Supporting organisations that care for and educate children and young people, to create environments where wellbeing, resilience and growth can flourish.
About The Centre for Educational Resilience
At The Centre for Educational Resilience, we believe resilience is not something people simply possess or lack.
Resilience develops through relationships, experiences, environments and opportunities. It can be nurtured, supported and strengthened throughout life.
The Centre for Educational Resilience was established in response to a simple but powerful belief: when we invest in the wellbeing, resilience and development of people, we create the conditions for lasting positive change.
Founded from a passion for helping children, young people, professionals and organisations thrive, our work has grown from decades of experience across education, residential childcare, safeguarding, therapeutic practice and organisational leadership. Through this work, we have seen first-hand both the challenges faced by those supporting children and young people with complex needs and the extraordinary difference that compassionate, skilled and well-supported professionals can make.
Too often, organisations are expected to achieve better outcomes without being given the time, resources or support needed to create sustainable change. We believe that resilience is not developed in isolation. It grows through supportive relationships, nurturing environments, opportunities for growth and systems that enable people to flourish.
The Centre for Educational Resilience was created to bridge the gap between research, policy and everyday practice, helping organisations translate evidence into meaningful action that improves lives.
Recognising that no one person can hold all the expertise required to meet the increasingly complex needs of children, young people and organisations, we have brought together a network of experienced professionals who share our values, vision and commitment to positive change. Together, we combine expertise across psychology, education, residential care, safeguarding, wellbeing, leadership, therapeutic practice and organisational development.
This collaborative approach allows us to provide support that is both evidence-informed and deeply practical, drawing on a breadth of knowledge, experience and perspectives while maintaining a shared commitment to compassion, integrity and excellence.
Through consultancy, training, coaching and therapeutic support, we help individuals, teams and organisations translate evidence into meaningful, trauma-informed practice that enables children, young people and adults to thrive.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief:
When we invest in the wellbeing, resilience and development of people, we create the conditions for lasting positive change.
Creating environments where people feel safe, connected, valued and able to flourish.

Our Approach
Research-Informed
We combine academic research, evidence-based practice and professional experience to deliver practical, effective support across education, residential care, wellbeing and resilience.
Trauma-Sensitive
We understand that experiences shape behaviour, learning, relationships and wellbeing. Our work promotes safety, compassion and understanding, ensuring support is sensitive to the impact of trauma and adversity.
Human-Centred
We put people at the heart of everything we do. We value agency, autonomy and individuality, recognising that meaningful support must be tailored to the unique needs, strengths and goals of each person and organisation.
What We Believe
✓ Research should inform practice.
✓ Wellbeing approaches should be trauma-sensitive.
✓ Individuals should have agency, choice and autonomy.
✓ Professionals need support if they are to effectively support others.
✓ Sustainable change begins with understanding people, not labelling them.
